70 new coronavirus cases recorded in Syrian government-held areas

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the media office of the Ministry of Health of the Syrian government recorded 70 new coronavirus infections and six deaths in its areas of control.

The pro-government SANA quoted that the new deaths were two each in Damascus and Latakia, and one each in Aleppo and Homs.

Meanwhile, SANA announced the recording of 11 new recoveries. 

Recently, Syrian government-held areas have been witnessing a remarkable decrease in coronavirus infections.

The new cases were 9 in Aleppo, 15 in Damascus, 8 in Suwayda, 7 in Daraa, 6 each in Tartous and Deir ez-Zor, 5 in Rif Dimashq, 4 each in Latakia and Hama, 3 in Homs, 2 in Raqqa and one in Hasakah.

The total toll of the infections in the government-held areas has come up to 24,187, including 1,740 deaths and 21,560 recoveries.
