Syria’s Manbij Military Council foils infiltration attempt by Turkish-backed group

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – The Media Office of Manbij Military Council that is affiliated with Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said that their forces foiled an infiltration attempt by Turkish-backed Euphrates Shield groups in the village al-Jat, north Manbij, north Syria, on Friday. 

Meanwhile, clashes erupted and mortars were launched against civilian houses after the infiltration attempt, which occurred at 02:00 PM, a local military source said. 

Manbij Military Council Media Office released video footages showing two fighters on frontlines saying that, during the clashes, three Turkish-backed militants died and weapons they had were confiscated.

Clashes between Manbij Military Council fighters and Turkish-backed armed groups successively occur on the frontlines extending from the village of al-Hoshariya, northeast Manbij, to the village of Awn al-Dadat, north the city, reaching to Arima in the west.

On May 19, Turkish-backed armed opposition groups targeted from Turkish base in the village of al-Yshli  the village of Umm Adasa, northwest Manbij, with shells.
