Syrian government-held areas record 42 new coronavirus cases

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the media office of the Ministry of Health of the Syrian government recorded 42 new coronavirus infections and five deaths in its areas of control.

The government’s media office stated on its Facebook account that the new deaths were two each in of Damascus and Latakia, one in Aleppo.

Meanwhile, the media office announced the recording of 287 new recoveries.

Recently, Damascus government-held areas have been witnessing a remarkable decrease in the coronavirus infections.

The new cases were 17 in Suwayda, 15 in Aleppo, and five each in Damascus and Latakia.

The total toll of the infections in the government-held areas has come up to 23,830, including 1,710 deaths and 21,360 recoveries.
