Tents burn in Syria’s Hawl Camp

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press)-On Monday, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) managed to extinguish a fire that broke out in the second sector of the foreigners’ section in Hawl Camp, east of Hasakah.

A fire spread in one of the kitchens and burnt more than ten tents, though the cause of the fire is still unknown.

An administrative source from the camp said that the fire did not cause any casualties, and the damage was limited to the material.

Hawl Camp is home to about 59,000 people, including about 2,525 families of ISIS members, with an estimated number of 8,500 people, women and children, in addition to 30,738 Iraqi refugees and 21,058 displaced Syrians.

On February 27, a fire broke out in the fourth sector for the displaced Syrians during a wedding ceremony, killing nine people, including seven children.
