Unidentified persons assassinate Syrian government soldier in Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, local sources from southern Syria said that unidentified gunmen assassinated a member of the Fourth Division group of the Syrian government forces in Daraa, south Syria.
The sources told North Press that Hussein al-Najm was shot dead by unidentified persons on Sunday afternoon. Al-Najm joined the Fourth Division after the settlement agreement that took place during 2018 in southern Syria.
The southern governorates of Syria have been witnessing an escalation of assassinations and a state of security chaos including targeting of civilians, members of local groups, and members of the government forces.
The sources stated that the assassination was carried out by unknown assailants riding a motorcycle, targeting al-Najm at al-Fawar Spring in the town of Tel Shihab in the western countryside of Daraa.
The southern governorates of Syria recorded 48 attacks and assassination attempts during the month of April, according to local statistics.
