Syria’s AANES records coronavirus deaths, infections
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration announced the recording of nine deaths and 89 new cases of coronavirus in the regions of northeast Syria.
The official Autonomous Administration account on Facebook cited the co-chair of the Health Board Jiwan Mustafa, saying that the deaths were a man from Hasakah, four men from Qamishli, a woman from Derbasiya, two women from Hawl Camp, and one from Deir ez-Zor.
Most of the infections today were from Tapqa (27 infections) and 2 from Hasakah (20 injuries).
The rest of the infections were as follows: five in Derik, nine in Deir ez-Zor, one in Derbasiya, two in Roj Camp, two in Qamishli, one in Hawl Camp, and three in Kobani.
The Health Board also recorded the recovery of eight new cases of previously recorded infections.
The number of Coronavirus infections in the regions of northeast Syria has risen to 16,408, including 645 deaths and 1,681 recoveries.
The Autonomous Administration approved the extension of the partial lockdown in its regions on Wednesday, from 7 p.m until 7 a.m for 10 days, starting from Friday.
“The measures will be stricter to prevent large gatherings on the days of Eid al-Fitr,”said Avram Ishaq, a member of the Crisis Cell Management Team in the Jazira region.
