Wounded in explosion in Syria’s Afrin, Turkey shells Aleppo countryside
AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, five children from one family were injured when an explosive device planted inside a car exploded in the city of Afrin, north of Aleppo. The incident was followed by Turkish artillery shelling on the northern countryside of Aleppo.
Speaking to North Press, a local source said that the explosion took place near Osama bin Zaid Mosque in al-Mahmoudiya neighborhood of Afrin, injuring five children who were transferred to the city hospital.
The source added that widespread material damage was caused to the site.
On April 1, a young man was injured and his leg was amputated as a result of the explosion of an explosive device planted inside his car.
The city of Afrin and its environs have been under the control of the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups since March 2018.
The Turkish artillery stationed in the Scientific Research Center on the Azaz-Yahmoul Road bombed with more than 30 shells the village of Maranaz in the northern countryside of Aleppo, without news of the size of the damage caused by the bombing.
The pro-Turkish armed opposition groups-held areas witness arrests and assassinations accompanied by repeated bombings, amid the inability of the groups to settle the security in the region.
