KRG president discusses Kurdish unity with leaders in Sulaymaniyah
ERBIL, Iraq (North Press) – On Tuesday, the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Nechirvan Barzani met co-chairs of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) Bafel Talabani and Lahur Sheikh Jangi in the city of Sulaymaniyah.
As he arrived in Sulaymaniyah this morning, Barzani headed to the headquarters of the Gorran Movement, where the General Coordinator of the Movement, Omer Said Ali received him.
After leaving the headquarters of the Movement, Barzani went to Dabashan Hill in the city, the main headquarters of the PUK, and held a meeting with the co-presidency of the party, Lahur Sheikh Jengi and Bafel Talabani, along with other officials in the party and the presidency of the region.
During the separated meetings with both parties, Barzani discussed the early legislative elections that is scheduled to take place on October 10.
Moreover, he discussed issues related to the Kurdish unity in Iraq, developing relations between the Kurdish parties and eliminating obstacles that the KRG faces.
Barzani mainly concentrated on the necessity to form a draft constitution for KRG and exchange standpoints and suggestions with all political parties in the region.
Yesterday, Barzani met Ali Bapir, leader of Kurdistan Justice Group, and the Kurdistan Islamic Union in Erbil, too.
Barzani is supposed to visit Kurdistan Socialist Democratic Party headquarters in Sulaymaniyah.
