Opposition members killed in Syria’s Latakia countryside
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Syrian government forces targeted a car of a pro-Turkish armed opposition group north of Latakia, with a guided missile, killing two members.
“The government forces stationed at the surrounding checkpoints targeted a pickup car of the opposition groups with a guided missile in al-Barnas area in the northern countryside of Latakia,” military sources told North Press.
“The two members belonged to the National Front for Liberation which is active in Idlib and the countryside of Latakia,” the sources added.
The sources pointed out that the targeting resulted in the complete burning of the aforementioned car with the two members, where the civil defense teams worked to get out the bodies.
Earlier, the Syrian Civil Defense organization accused the government forces of escalating their attacks in the Idlib-Hama-Latakia triangle, where similar targeting incidents took place, resulting in deaths and injuries, including civilians.
