Killings ramp up in Syria’s Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – One person and three members of the Syrian government forces were killed in separate areas in Daraa, south Syria, activists said on Thursday. 

Local sources from the town of al-Yadoudah in the western countryside of Daraa, said that unidentified persons shot dead Abdurrahman al-Zobani in the town.

According to the same sources, al-Zobani was a former member of the al-Mu’taz Billah Army group of the opposition groups in southern Syria, and he has not joined any military formation of the government forces since the settlement agreement in 2018.

Also, local sources reported that two members of the government forces were killed on Thursday afternoon in the city of Nawa in the western countryside of Daraa, after being shot by unknown assailants who used machine guns and fired at them on a main road.

After the incident, the city witnessed a security alert by members of the government forces who roamed the city with eight cars carrying machine guns in search of the attackers.

Security sources reported that they found the body of a Warrant Officer in the Military Security forces in Daraa, Ali Adnan Ahmad, who was killed in mysterious circumstances, in Daraa al-Mahatta area.
