Uzbek delegation visits Syria’s Qamishli, met Autonomous Administration officials
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, a delegation of the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs headed by ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the State of Kuwait, Bahramjan Alayuf arrived in the Department of Foreign Relations of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in Qamishli, northeast Syria.
The delegation was received by the Department co-chair, Abdulkarim Omar and other officials.
The Department’s Facebook account posted that both sides discussed the situation in Syria in general, and the AANES regions in particular, in addition to the political process and developing relations between Uzbekistan and the Autonomous Administration.
Also, both sides dealt with the challenges the AANES faces such as confronting terrorism, economic difficulties and the siege imposed on the region due to the closure of al-Ya’roubiya (Tal Kochar) crossing, according to the Foreign Relations Department Facebook.
They discussed the issue of ISIS families of Uzbek nationalities in the northeastern Syria’s camps.
