15 deaths, 233 new coronavirus infections in Syria’s AANES regions
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced the recording of 233 new coronavirus infections and 15 deaths in northeast Syria.
AANES’ Facebook page quoted Jiwan Mustafa, co-chair of the AANES Health Board, who stated that the deaths were four men and a woman from Qamishli, three men and a woman from Hasakah, a man and a woman from Deir ez-Zor, a man and two women from Manbij, and a woman from Hawl Camp.
The infections were 130 males and 103 females, according to Mustafa.
Most of the infections today were concentrated in Hasakah 30, Qamishli 17, Derik 15, Derbasiya 5, and Amuda 12.
Other infections were distributed in Kobani 6, Raqqa 23, Tabqa 41, Deir ez-Zor 60, Roj Camp 19, Manbij 4, and one in Shahba regions in the northern countryside of Aleppo where Afrin IDPs reside.
Meanwhile, the AANES Health Board recorded 14 new recoveries.
With the announcement of these new cases, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the regions of northeast Syria has reached 15,562 confirmed cases, including 545 deaths and 1,569 recoveries.
