Municipality sterilizes markets and institutions in Syria’s Derik to curb coronavirus
DERIK, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, People’s Municipality of the Autonomous Administration in the city of Derik, in the far northeast Syria, started the second stage of sterilizing the markets and administrative institutions in the city.
“The second stage is sterilization, which preceded by the cleaning stage in the vegetable and meat markets,” Rudwan Omar, director of the municipality’s health committee, told North Press.
“We have allocated four sprayers and eight workers to sterilize some security institutions and the vegetable and meat markets,” Omar added.
It is supposed that the sterilization process for the rest of the institutions and markets will be completed within the next two days in case the sterile material is obtained from the Health Directorate.
On Tuesday, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration announced the recording of 15 new cases of coronavirus in the city of Derik.
Derik is currently subject to the complete lockdown, which will continue until April 29.
