11 deaths, 153 new coronavirus infections in Syria’s AANES regions
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Health Board of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) announced the recording of 153 new coronavirus infections and 11 deaths in northeast Syria.
AANES’ Facebook page quoted Jiwan Mustafa, co-chair of the AANES Health Board, who stated that the deaths were a man and two women from Qamishli, a man and a woman from Hasakah, two men from Derik, three men in Deir ez-Zor, and a man from Manbij.
The infections were 96 males and 57 females, according to Mustafa.
Most of the infections today were concentrated in Hasakah 46, Qamishli 23, Derik 14, Derbasiya 12, and Girke Lege 4.
Other infections were distributed in Raqqa 41, Deir ez-Zor 7, Hawl Camp 2, and three in Shahba regions in the northern countryside of Aleppo where Afrin IDPs reside.
Meanwhile, the AANES Health Board recorded 17 new recoveries.
With the announcement of these new cases, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the regions of northeast Syria has reached 15,329 confirmed cases, including 530 deaths and 1,555 recoveries.
