Iranian-backed groups seize real estate from residents of SDF areas

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, local sources said that Iranian-backed groups seized recently homes of displaced people from the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, which is under the control of the Syrian government forces.

The sources added that the owners of these homes are IDPs who live within the areas under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces.

Liwa Fatemiyoun, al-Quds Brigade, and Iraqi Hezbollah are carrying out the operation, the majority of which is taking place in the city of al-Bukamal in the vicinity of al-Maari security square of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, east of Deir ez-Zor, according to the sources.

Al-Bukamal resident Hussam al-Hamad (a pseudonym) said that the groups have seized five houses and three shops in the vicinity of al-Maari since the beginning of last week, and these properties belong to IDPs residing within SDF-held areas.

He added that the shops are leased to those who wish to rent them, and some are given to the families of the Iranian-backed groups, while houses are handed over to the members and their families for housing, especially those of Iraqi nationality.

Ali al-Jubouri (a pseudonym), a member of Liwa Fatemiyoun, said that the houses are not converted into military points, as they are separated from each other, but the houses that are close to each other are converted into military points and offices for security reasons.
