High toll of coronavirus infections in Syrian government-held areas

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the information office of the Health Ministry in the Syrian government recorded 120 new coronavirus infections and ten deaths in its areas of control.

The government information office stated on Facebook account that the new deaths were four in Damascus, two in Latakia, two in Suwayda and one each in Aleppo and Homs, as recorded 105 recoveries.

Recently, the government-held areas have been witnessing a noticeable increase in the number of the coronavirus cases amid warnings of the collapse of the health situation in these areas.

The new recorded cases were 29 in Latakia, 21 in Damascus, 21 in Rif Dimashq, 13 in Homs, eight in Daraa, six in Hama, one case in Suwayda, one in Quneitra, and 20 in Aleppo.

The total toll of infection in the government-held areas has come up to 20,555, including 1,402 deaths and 14,335 recoveries.
