Turkish-backed group arrests civilians in Syria’s Afrin
AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, a Turkish-backed armed opposition group arrested two young men in the city of Afrin, northwest Syria, while trying to enter Turkish territory.
“Members of al-Jabha al-Shamiya group arrested the two young men, Maher Oso and Mustafa al-Ahmad, who were from the village of Ziyara, south Afrin, and took them to an unidentified destination,” local source told North Press.
On April 6, the Turkish-backed Sham Legion arrested two civil young men from the village of Bosoufane in the southern countryside of Afrin and took them to an unidentified destination.
The city of Afrin and its environs have been under the control of the Turkish-backed armed opposition groups since March 2018.
The opposition groups continue to harass and extort the population and commit all kinds of violations, including murder, kidnapping and torture, according to local and international reports.
The Turkish-backed armed groups’ areas of control are witnessing detentions and assassinations accompanied by successive explosions in light of the armed groups’ disability to settle the security there.
