Turkish-backed armed group arrests civilians in Syria’s Afrin
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Turkish-backed Sham Legion arrested two civil young men from the village of Bosoufane in the countryside of Afrin, north of Syria’s Aleppo.
Militants of the Sham Legion arrested the two young men and transferred them to an unidentified destination, a local source told North Press.
The arrest occurred in order to blackmail and gain ransom from their families, the source added.
Turkish-backed armed groups continue to conduct arbitrary detentions against residents of Afrin and its villages amidst international silence, according to human rights reports.
Turkey and its affiliated armed groups have been running Afrin and its villages since March 2018.
The Turkish-backed armed groups’ areas of control are witnessing detentions and assassinations accompanied by successive explosions in light of the armed groups’ disability to settle the security there.
