27 ISIS members killed in northern Iraq’s Makhmur

ERBIL, Iraq (North Press) – On Wednesday, the spokesperson of the Iraqi Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief, Yahya Rasoul, announced the killing of 27 ISIS members during the “Eager Lion” operation that lasted two weeks.

“The operation was launched with the participation of Counter-Terrorism Service and Iraqi aircraft in the mountains of Makhmur, southeastern Mosul on March 9 to target ISIS sleeper cells,” Rasoul said in a statement. 

“The operation lasted 14 days, during which 27 ISIS members were killed,” he added. 

On March 13, the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service announced the arrest of four ISIS militants in Baghdad, al-Anbar, and Salah al-Din governorates.
