Women demonstrate against Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in Syria’s Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, dozens of women demonstrated against Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) in the western countryside of Aleppo to demand the release of their detained relatives who were arrested nearly nine months ago for still unknown reasons.

Local sources told North Press that dozens of women went out this morning in the town of Sahara in the western countryside of Aleppo to denounce the practices of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and its security forces.

The sources pointed out that the protesters raised banners condemning HTS’ ongoing violations against civilians, in the areas it controls.

On Tuesday, dozens of women took part in a demonstration against Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in the town of Sahara, west of Aleppo. The security forces of the group dealt the protesters with violence and the firing of warning shots, without information about injuries among the women.
