SDF checkpoint in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor targeted with RPGs

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday evening, unidentified persons riding a motorcycle targeted a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in the town of al-Busayrah with a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), resulting in injuries and material damage.

A military source from al-Busayrah told North Press that masked men fired an RPG at the Asayish checkpoint in al-Busayrah, then fired several bullets at the checkpoint and fled.

The source added that the attack injured three people, one of whom was transferred to al-Busayrah Hospital, while the others were lightly wounded.

At dawn on Saturday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) killed eight ISIS members after hours-long clashes in the town of al-Husayn in Deir ez-Zor’s western countryside.

The countryside of Deir ez-Zor is witnessing increasing ISIS activity, as the group targets military points and vehicles of the SDF.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for several assassinations and bombings of members of the SDF, Autonomous Administration employees, tribal leaders, and civilians.
