Government forces continue shelling opposition in Syria’s south Idlib countryside
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, Syrian government forces continue their bombing of Syrian opposition posts in areas in Idlib, northwest Syria.
Syrian government forces targeted the opposition’s sites in villages and towns in Zawiya Mountain, south Idlib, with heavy artillery shells and rocket launchers, field sources told North Press.
The shelling also targeted each of Kansafara, al-Fatirah, Kafr Aweed, Sufuhun, and the outskirts of the town of al-Bara southern Zawiya Mountain, the sources added.
The artillery shelling also targeted opposition posts in the villages of Deir Sunbul and Binin, eastern Zawiya Mountain, reporting massive material losses in private and public possessions.
The shelling coincided with intensive flight by Russian drones over Idlib, north Latakia countryside, and west Hama countryside.
The military escalation is taking place despite the Russian-Turkish ceasefire signed agreement of March 2020.
