Man killed by unidentified individuals in Syria’s west Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, unidentified individuals shot a member of the tribes in the town of al- Jai’a, 20 kilometers west of Syria’s Deir ez-Zor.

A local source told North Press that unidentified individuals shot Fayiz al-Ramadan, who is a muezzin (who calls Muslims to prayer) after he left the dawn prayer from the mosque near his house.

“The unidentified persons fired more than 10 bullets at al-Ramadan amid shouts of “takbir (God is the greatest),” the source added.

The countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing assassinations of members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), employees of the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria (AANES), tribal figures, and residents of the region.

On Tuesday, ISIS claimed responsibility for the killing of Sheikh Abd al-Razaq Abd al-Majid, who is one of the tribal figures under the pretext of practicing magic.
