VBIED explodes near opposition HQ in Syria’s Bab

AZAZ, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, a VBIED exploded near the entrance to the Military College of the Hamza Division, a group of the Turkish-backed National Army.

Syrian opposition-held areas in northwest Syria have been witnessing security chaos, including detentions and assassinations, accompanied by repetitive blasts in the light of the opposition groups’ failure to settle the security situation.

The explosion occurred near the entrance to the headquarters of the Military College on the outskirts of the city of al-Bab, with casualties reported, a military source told North Press.

The explosion resulted in significant material loss, as the outer wall of the college was demolished, in addition to other material damage to the building of the headquarters.

The city of Bab, 30 km from the southern Turkish border, has been under the control of Turkish forces and armed opposition factions since 2017.

On February 23, unknown gunmen attacked a headquarters of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) in the Bab region, killing an IDP from Homs.
