Opposition thwarts government infiltration attempt in Syria’s de-escalation zone

HAMA, Syria (North Press) – Late on Tuesday, Turkish-backed armed opposition groups thwarted an infiltration attempt by the Syrian government forces in Ghab Plain, west of Hama.

Military sources from the opposition told North Press that opposition groups foiled government forces’ infiltration attempt in Ankawi in Ghab Plain hours after foiling the first one. 

Clashes erupted between armed groups and government forces, resulting in causalities among both sides.

The Syrian forces could not advance, and this is their third infiltration attempt in 48 hours, according to the sources.

On Tuesday night, the armed groups foiled an infiltration attempt by the government forces in al-Qala’ in Turkmen Mountain, north of Latakia.

On Tuesday, Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room thwarted government forces’ infiltration attempt in Ankawi in Ghan Plain, military sources reported.
