Attackers target SDF post in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, unidentified attackers, who were riding a bike, launched two missiles at a military post in the town of al-Shaheil, east Deir ez-Zor.  

About six armed attackers launched two shoulder rockets against an SDF military post in al-Shaheil, reporting slight wounds among the fighters, an SDF military source told North Press.

Meanwhile, clashes with machine guns erupted between the SDF and unidentified persons in the middle of the town, the thing that caused the attackers to flee, the source added.

It is worth mentioning that North Press Agency counted 66 military operations, which the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsible for, in north and east Syria during January and February, 2021. 

On Friday, the SDF arrested a number of the wanted, who have been accused of targeting their members, in the town of Jadeed Bakkarah, east Deir ez-Zor.  

On Friday, the SDF and the US-led Global Coalition raided the crossing of al-Hawayij town that have connected between the two banks of the Euphrates and the forces expelled the owners of the ferries, confiscate some and flood some others.

The eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor is witnessing assassination cases and attacks carried out against SDF, posts and military vehicles.
