AZAZ, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces renewed shelling on the villages of Mara’anaz, Dayr Jamal, and Ibbin in Shahba, north Aleppo, at dawn on Wednesday.
Turkish artillery and Turkish-backed armed opposition groups in the countryside of Aleppo continue their shelling of populated areas in Shahba, causing human and material loses.
Turkish artillery stationed in the Scientific Research Center on the Azaz – Yahmoul road targeted the outskirts of Mara’anaz, Dayr Jamal, and Ibbin with more than 15 shells, a knowledgeable source told North Press.
The source did not mention details about the impacts of the indiscriminate shelling on the aforementioned villages.
On Tuesday, Turkish forces in the Scientific Research Center shelled Mara’anaz and the outskirts of Menagh Military Air Base with heavy artillery.
On January 23, three civilians, including a woman and a child, lost their lives, and ten others were wounded in artillery shelling on the city of Tel Rifaat.
Shahba region is home to thousands of Afrin’s IDPs, who have been forcibly displaced due to the Turkish invasion of 2018.
