SDF kills seven opposition militants in Syria’s Ain Issa

AIN ISSA, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on their website on Tuesday that their fighters killed seven Turkish-backed opposition militants in Ain Issa.

A post on the SDF website stated that in the early morning hours on Monday, opposition militants attempted an assault on the village of Mushairfa, “and violent clashes broke out, during which 7 mercenaries were killed and 3 others were wounded in the clashes.”

Turkish forces and their affiliated opposition groups have been shelling Ain Issa intermittently since August, despite the existence of ceasefire agreements that Turkey signed with both Russia and the US in October 2019. In October this year, a child was killed by the bombardment.

The assault on Ain Issa has escalated over the past few days, resulting in multiple injuries as well as the death of two civilians, who were killed when their home collapsed due to the shelling.
