Shelling on Syria’s Ain Issa continues amid Russian silence
AIN ISSA, Syria (North Press) – The town of Ain Issa, north of Raqqa, witnessed a cautious calm on Friday, with most of the shops closed as a result of the continuous bombing of the Turkish forces and armed opposition factions on the area.
Turkish forces and their armed groups bombed the vicinity of Ain Issa since dawn Friday, killing two civilians from one family in a village to the town’s east.
Two shells landed in the vicinity of the Russian base stationed at the eastern edge of the town during a protest by residents of Ain Issa in front of the base against the Russian silence towards the continued Turkish bombing of the area.
According to a local source, Russian soldiers present in the town were searching for restaurants to buy meals while the vicinity of the town was subjected to artillery shelling by the Turkish forces and the opposition factions.
