SDF arrest ISIS sleeper cell in Syria’s Qamishli countryside

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested on Tuesday a sleeper cell of four militants of the Islamic State (ISIS) during a security operation in the countryside of Qamishli, northeastern Syria.

SDF Military Operations and Coordination Center said that SDF conducted on Sunday a security operation by the support of the US-led Global Coalition in the western countryside of Tel Hamees near the Syrian-Iraqi borders.

During the operation four ISIS militants were arrested and their weapons and military equipment were confiscated.

This operation was the second of its kind within a month that SDF conducted with the support of the Global Coalition against ISIS northeastern Syria, according to the Coordination Center.

Earlier this month, SDF conducted a security operation with air support by the Global Coalition in Al Shheell eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside.
