Biden victory may solve financial crisis in Palestine, official source

RAMALLAH (North Press) – Palestinian political and popular circles expressed on Sunday, their satisfaction with the defeat of US President Donald Trump more than their happiness with the victory of the Democrat Joe Biden because the Palestinian issue experienced its worst situations in the four years of Trump’s rule.

“Biden’s victory will speed up the solution to the Palestinian financial crisis,” a source from inside the Palestinian presidency told North Press.

“The crisis was worsened due to the financial pressure exerted by the Trump administration on the Authority in Ramallah in order to push it to accept Trump Peace Plan,” the source said.

In turn, Nabil Amro, a journalist and politician, expressed his disagreement with the opinion of the Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shatiyeh.

Earlier, Shatiyeh said that “the US elections are an internal matter,” as Amro considered that the US presidential elections affect the whole world, and “any statement other than that, is subjective.”

However, in an exclusive interview with North Press, Nabil Amro stressed that arranging the Palestinian internal conflict is “the only way to reform the Palestinian political and social path, and not the one who heads the United States.”

Palestinian observers believe that Biden “will not fundamentally differ from Trump in supporting Israel and aligning with it. He will not also return the US embassy from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv.”

“But Biden will not be as bad as Trump,” according to observers.

For his part, Mustafa al-Barghouti, Secretary-General of the National Initiative Movement, said in a press statement: “Trump acted like a bully who wanted to restore the law of the jungle, and his fall is important.”

“Because he is the worst president in the modern era, and he is a threat to the people of the world,” he added.
