Number of causalities due to VIBED in Syria’s city of Sere Kaniye

SEREKANIYE, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) at the southern entrance to the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) killed seven people and injured others.

Local sources reported to North Press that the VBIED took place near the scrap iron complex in the industrial area at the southern entrance to the city.

The source added that the bombing killed seven people and wounded six as a preliminary outcome, in addition to material damage at the site of the explosion.

The explosion came just two days after two explosions, one with a motorcycle and the other with a car bomb, which occurred in the town of Tel Halaf in the western countryside of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain).

According to the sources the VBIED in Tel Halaf killed three civilians and wounded 12 others, and caused extensive damage in the surrounding area, including dozens of shops, homes and cars.

Since the Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups took control of it at the end in October 2019, the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) has witnessed many bombings, which left dozens of civilians dead and wounded.
