The number of people infected with coronavirus has exceeded 1,100,000, more than 60,000 of whom have died. The number of recovered people has reached more than 254,000, according to Johns Hopkins University in the United States.
Europe is the most affected continent, where more than 45,000 deaths were recorded. The largest number of deaths was recorded in Italy at 15,362.
The Italian authorities announced a decline in the number of people entering intensive care units in the country’s hospitals for the first time.
Italian authorities said: "It is important news, because this reduces the burden on our hospitals," adding, "this is the first time the number has declined since we started managing this emergency situation."
Spain extended their quarantine until April 25 after registering 11,744 deaths.
The death toll in France was 7,560, according to the French Health Ministry.
France requested the purchase of about two billion protective masks from China, while at the same time strengthening national production capacities in this field. Health authorities are encouraging residents to wear alternative masks made of fabric.
On April 7, France will begin a clinical trial to transfer blood plasma from recovered people to patients with acute cases of coronavirus.
It will also begin an extended clinical trial in which ten patients are given the solution of blood from a marine worm with oxygenating capabilities.

Trump also advised Americans to cover their faces outdoors.

New York is considered the hotspot of the epidemic in the United States. It announced the death of 630 people in one day, which is the worst death toll within 24 hours.
The number of deaths in the United States reached 8,098 people.
Ivory Coast authorities recommended their citizens to wear masks in public places to limit the spread of the virus in the country, in which it recorded 245 cases and no deaths. While 80% of infections were recorded in the capital Abidjan.
