Ongoing bombardment on Idlib as EU describes it “the bloodiest”

As the European Union has described the recent attacks on Idlib governorate “the bloodiest”, the Syrian and Russian fighter jets continue to shell the de-escalation zones, causing more human casualties, along with destruction in infrastructure.

On Wednesday, the European Union has expressed deep concern over the escalation of military operations in Idlib governorate in northwestern Syria, describing the latest bombardment as “the bloodiest”.

A statement issued by the European Commission said that the bombing of the town of Ma`arat al-Numan in Idlib on Monday was the “bloodiest” against civilian positions since last April.

The statement called for the immediate cessation of attacks targeting civilians in northwestern Syria, which cannot be justified under any circumstances.

Furthermore, the statement stressed on the importance of delivering humanitarian aid to all those in need in the region, with emphasizing on “the EU’s primary attitude represented in the necessity of punishing the perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity”.

In the same context, the Russian fighter jets continued raids on the town of Latamina and its surroundings in the northern countryside of Hama, Since Wednesday till Thursday morning, and targeting the hills of Kabanah in the northern Latakia countryside with several airstrikes.

Some helicopters also took turns in bombing Kabanah and Sirmaniyah axes today, dropping barrel bombs on the towns of Morak and Latamina in the northern countryside of Hama.

Moreover, the Syrian government forces shelled areas in Kafr Zita, Tal Meleh, Al-Jibeen and al-Ghab Plain in northern and north-west Hama countryside. As well as al-Rashidin area in the western Aleppo outskirts, and the axes of Al-Akrad and Turkmen Mountains in Latakia countryside, in addition to Kafr Nabl, south of Idlib.

On the other hand, after Thursday midnight, the armed opposition groups targeted the town of Qamhane and the vicinity of the thermal station in Muhradah with several shells.
