Turkish-backed armed groups shell Syrian government and Manbij Military Council positions

On Tuesday, Turkish-backed armed opposition groups targeted positions of the Manbij Military Council and Syrian government forces with more than 30 shells, most of which landed in owned lands, causing material damage to their property.

A North-Press reporter stated that from their base in the village of Yashli northwest of Manbij, the armed groups targeted the points of the Manbij Military Council and Syrian government forces in the village of Um Adasah and Talat al-Sayyada, northwest of the city of Manbij.

Our reporter added that most of the indiscriminate shells landed on the agricultural lands of the people and caused damage to civilian property.

In the same context, local sources told North-Press on Monday that “a bombing by Turkish-backed opposition groups on the village of Arab Hassan, northwestern Manbij, killed a girl and injured her father.”

On Tuesday, Turkish forces and Syrian armed opposition groups targeted the village of al-Dibis, west of the town of Ein-Issa, and in light of the continued bombing, maintenance workers were unable to reach the damaged power lines.

During the bombing on the area in the past days, power lines were damaged as maintenance workers tried to reach the lines, but to no avail, because of the continued bombing by Turkish forces and their affiliated Syrian groups, which prevent them from being repaired.

On Monday, Turkish forces and their groups launched an attack on Hoshan village and the M4 highway, in conjunction with the flight of Turkish reconnaissance over Ein-Issa town in the northern countryside of Raqqa.

Military sources from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) told North-Press that, “we managed to counter the attack, which led to the destruction of some Turkish vehicles and the killing of two members of the armed groups.”
