Turkish bombardment on Tal Tamr countryside disrupting Alouk Water Plant

On Thursday, bombing by the Turkish army and its affiliated opposition groups on Tal Tamr’s countryside, northwest of Hasakah city, led to the disruption of the water pipeline coming from Alouk Water Plant, which provides water to Hasakah city and its countryside.

A North-Press reporter quoted the Directorate of Water in Tal Tamr in stating that the ongoing mortar bombardment of the Turkish army and its armed opposition groups on the village of Um al-Keif, 3 km north of Tal Tamr, caused the explosion of the water pipeline coming from Alouk Water Plant (5 km east of Sere-Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), which provides Hasakah city and its countryside with drinking water.

Maintenance teams from the Water Directorate are still unable to access the area due to the shelling of Um al-Keif and its surroundings, and the direct targeting of the area by Turkish forces and their armed groups.

Previously on Thursday, western and northern villages of Tal Tamr (40 km northwest of Hasakah city) were subjected to a bombardment by Turkish forces and their opposition groups, which led to the killing of two members of the Syrian government forces and the wounding of 7 others. The bombardment also caused a wave of displacement among the civilians, who headed towards Tal Tamr.

On Wednesday, the village of Rabia in the countryside of Abu Rasin (Zargan) was subjected to shelling by Turkish-backed groups, which injured 4 civilians, including a woman.
