On Monday, a child was killed and another was injured as a result of a landmine left by Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition groups in the village of Khirbet al-Baqar, in the town of Ain Issa in northern Syria.

Local sources told North-Press that the landmine exploded under the two children at 9:00 AM, killing one 13 year old and wounding a 12 year old who was subsequently taken to Ain Issa Hospital.

 

On March 17th, a 10-year-old boy died and his father was injured as the result of a landmine explosion in the village of Sarzuri, 37 km east of Kobani.

Since the beginning of 2019 until October, at least 173 people, including 41 children, were killed by landmines and bombs in several areas in Syria, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
