Turkey sends military reinforcements to Idlib amid artillery shelling by Syrian government forces

On Tuesday, Turkish forces brought new military reinforcements to their observation posts in Idlib countryside in the northwest of Syria, amid artillery shelling by the Syrian government forces on the southern countryside of Idlib province.

A field source in Idlib told North-Press that a Turkish convoy consisting of dozens of military vehicles and heavy weaponry entered Syrian territory via the Kafr-Lossin border point and headed towards Turkish observation posts in Idlib countryside.

This comes in light of continued artillery shelling by Syrian government forces, stationed in the town of Kafr Nabl since last night, Monday and Tuesday, on the area of al-Bara in Mount (Jabal) al-Zawiya, according to the same source.

On the 9th of this month, Turkish forces sent a military convoy of dozens of vehicles loaded with logistical equipment. The reinforcements also included armored vehicles and concrete barriers via the Kafr-Lossin border point in northern Idlib to the de-escalation zones.

A field source indicated to North-Press that the Turkish forces deployed in areas of Idlib countryside have been bringing in dozens of military vehicles, almost daily since the ceasefire began on the sixth of last March.
