Armed opposition takes over government points in Hama amid violent clashes

On Sunday, armed opposition groups took control of locations of Syrian government forces and the village of Tanjara in the northwestern countryside of Hama, amid violent clashes and mutual shelling between the two sides.

Some of the armed groups from the Rouse the Believers Operations Room (a coalition of Salafist insurgent groups in northwestern Syria involved in the Syrian Civil War) took control of the village of Tanjara and three military points belonging to the Syrian government forces in al-Ghab Plain in Hama's northwestern countryside, a field source told North-Press.

The source added that violent clashes took place between government forces and opposition groups in the areas of al-Ghab plain, where they first attacked the areas of Qlidin, al-Ankawi and al-Qahera in the northern Hama countryside with artillery and rocket launchers.

Yesterday, Saturday, Syrian government artillery stationed in the Saraqeb area targeted the town of Neirab and the village of San in the eastern Idlib countryside.

At midnight Friday – Saturday, clashes took place between armed opposition groups and Syrian government forces on the axes of the village of Ma'ara Alia, west of Saraqeb, and the village of al-Fatira in al-Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, in an attempted advance by government forces in the area.
