DEIR EZ-ZOR – Syria (North Press) – The commando forces of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested 4 members of ISIS sleeper cells in two separate operations in Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria on Tuesday.

The forces carried out two separate operations in the towns of al-Baghouz and al-Sousah. As a result of each operation, two members of ISIS sleeper cells were arrested, and weapons and ammunition were found with them.

Commandos are special forces of the SDF whose primary mission is to carry out special operations.

The operation coincided with “unknown persons” placing an explosive device in a popular market in the city of Hajin, south of Deir ez-Zor, after which the security forces dismantled it.

Iraqi forces launched the second phase of the “Iraq Heroes” military operations to hunt down ISIS sleeper cells southwest of Kirkuk earlier on Tuesday.
