Isolation of a village in northern Aleppo amid suspected coronavirus case

On Friday, the Autonomous Administration in the northern countryside of Aleppo isolated the village of Um al-Hosh, 40km north of Aleppo, after a suspected case of coronavirus in the village was detected.

Zainab Barakat, a displaced woman from the village of Kokan of the district of Maabatli in Afrin, who lives in the Um al-Hosh village, told North-Press that yesterday, Thursday, a member of the Syrian government forces was suspected of being infected with coronavirus, he was recently demobilized from the military service.

Barakat explained that the village has been completely isolated from the rest of other villages in the northern countryside of Aleppo, where residents were prevented from entering and leaving the village, in addition to closing all roads leading to it.

On Friday, the Autonomous Administration in the northern countryside of Aleppo was due to make a statement to the media about the suspected case, but it was postponed pending the outcome of the tests, which were sent to the city of Damascus, according to a source from the Autonomous Administration in northern Aleppo.

While the Crisis Management Team in the northern countryside of Aleppo refused to make any statements to North-Press until the results of the tests are revealed.
