For violating the lockdown, Kobani Municipality fines 55 stores

People’s Municipality in Kobani, northern Syria, organized financial fines against the owners of 55 stores in violation of the lockdown decision in the city during the last 48 hours.

Two days ago, members of the People’s Municipality Control started field patrols inside Kobani to control the violations and the shops that do not abide by the lockdown decision.

 
Jalal Ali, the official in People's Municipality Control in Kobani, told North Press that they fined 55 stores of different professions during the past two days, pointing out to the shutdown of a shop selling ice cream.

Ali explained that they warned shop owners before the start of the fining campaign, adding that shop owners were fined of SYP 5,000 for the first time and SYP 10,000 in case of repeating the violation.

The official noted that if the violation is repeated for the third time, the store will be closed, in addition to imposing a fine of SYP 15,000.

Control patrols include the main and subsidiary streets in the neighborhoods of Kobani, the patrols are coordinated with the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), where morning and evening patrols are organized from 10 am to 9 pm, according to the official.

According to Ali, all opened stores will be fined after 4 pm, except for the industrial shops.  

It is worth noting that last Monday, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria announced the extension of the lockdown in all its regions for 15 days from April 7 to April 21, as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus epidemic.
