The Economic Committee of the Autonomous Administration has completed documentation works of the burnt agricultural lands this season in the areas of Qamishli (of Al-Jazira region according to Autonomous Administration’s divisions of north and eastern Syria), through joint committees of the Economic Board and Internal Security Forces (Asayish).

The Economic Committee estimated the burnt agricultural lands in the areas of Qamishli up to 214.125 dunums of crops, which were not yet harvested.

For her part, Jinda Ali, the spokeswoman of the region’s economic committee, told North-Press that the census excluded the burning of other crops.

“The Autonomous Administration has formed a central committee at the level of the regions composed of the Economic Board and the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), who have counted the burnt areas accurately, in cooperation with the committees and communes in villages and cities,” Jinda Ali added.

It’s worth mentioning that the fires unprecedentedly broke out in vast agricultural land this year in north and eastern Syria, devouring vast areas of crops, as the Administration has issued a decision to compensate the affected people under specific conditions and procedures.
