Why Iran and Hezbollah did not respond to Israeli strikes: security source

RAMALLAH, Palestine (North Press) – “There are many reasons preventing Iran and Hezbollah from responding to the raids attributed to Israel against their interests in Syria, based mainly on Tel Aviv’s security policy," an Israeli security source said on Sunday.

"Israel is always keen not to officially announce the implementation of these raids as part of the inter-war strategy, so Iran is exempt from embarrassment and is forced to respond in order to save face in front of its supporters," the source explained in an interview with North Press.

Israeli political analyst Shaul Munsha spoke to North Press about the reasons that prevent an Iranian response to these raids, pointing out that the Islamic Republic does not respond because its leaders realize that "the next is more severe … and that when Israel is carrying out these bombings, it is planning for the next round. "

“The other reason that prevents Iran and Hezbollah from responding, despite their interests being continuously targeted by Israel in Syria, relates to Russia, which gives a green light to Israeli raids that curbs Iranian positions and prevents being drawn into a military confrontation as well," according to Munsha.

He pointed out that Russia does not want Iranian presence in Syria, as it wants to be the  prominent power in Syria without Iran or Turkey and their affiliated groups.

The third factor is the Syrian government, which no longer responds to Israeli bombing because it wants external protection in order to survive, in addition to the fact that the Syrian regime is fed up with Iranian interference, and it has already had enough of Turkey and Russia and the organizations that work against it, according to Munsha.
