The Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) announced on Saturday its readiness to negotiate with the Syrian government.
SDC issued a statement saying: "We watched President Bashar al-Assad's meeting, and despite our disagreement with many of the issues he raised, especially those related to north and east of Syria, but we have seen from his speech a reluctance to engage in a real negotiation process in order to confront the dangers and threats of dividing Syria and cutting off parts of it in favor of the Turkish fascist mercenaries".
The statement pointed out that, "Syria is undergoing to the largest process of abuse, and its people are subjected to various kinds of oppression and destruction".
Based on the foregoing, the SDC announced its openness to form a real Syrian opposition platform which includes those outside the SDC, whether inside or outside Syria, and those who were excluded in Geneva and Astana processes or were absent from the so-called Constitutional Committee and all those who declared that they were involved in the solution of the Syrian crisis, pointing out its readiness to start negotiations with the Syrian government without preconditions according to the national constants agreed upon by all Syrians, namely the unity of Syria and the integrity of its sovereignty.
The statement stressed that, the stance of the SDC on the negotiating issue with the Syrian government "is no spur-of-the-moment and has been consistent since the beginning of the Syrian crisis".
The statement pointed out that, "if Damascus reacts positively to the SDC's attitude, we will respect that and will consider it a necessary step for our people's resistance and their readiness to liberate every inch of our land".
It also stressed that, the willingness to negotiate would invalidate every misconception and misleading which says that the Autonomous Administration is an attempt of division.
The statement pointed out that, "the military understanding which took place between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian army under the auspices of Moscow, represents the beginning of confidence building procedures which we need to complete the liberation of our land from the Turkish occupation to the liberation of Afrin".
