Armed group claims attack on Israeli base in Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – A group calling itself Uli al-Baas (Islamic Resistance Front in Syria) on Monday said it had targeted an Israeli military position in the western countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.
In a video statement, the group said it targeted the Al-Akou base at the Israeli army’s Al-Jazira military post in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa.
According to the group, the attack came “in retaliation for the blood of the martyrs and in response to recent Israeli incursions into the area.”
The group has previously claimed responsibility for several clashes with Israeli forces operating in southern Syria.
The Israeli military has not yet commented on the reported attack.
