Alouk water reaches Syria’s Hasakah pumping station as repairs continue
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Water from the Alouk pumping station reaches the al-Hemmah station in Hasakah countryside, northeastern Syria, but the incoming flow remains weak due to a pipeline break, a local official on Sunday said.
The official from the General Establishment for Drinking Water in Hasakah told North Press that the reduced water flow was caused by damage to one of the transmission pipelines near the town of Tweinah in northern Hasakah countryside.
Maintenance teams were immediately deployed to repair the damaged section in order to complete the filling of the al-Hemmah station’s reservoir, the official added.
Authorities will also begin trial pumping to neighborhoods in Hasakah city to verify the integrity of the distribution network and pipelines before the station resumes full operations.
The official noted that water transmission from Alouk to Hasakah remains in its testing phase, as engineers continue inspecting the supply lines serving the city and surrounding countryside.
The station is expected to operate at full capacity once all maintenance work is completed and the remaining faults across the network are repaired.
