Israeli forces advance into Syria’s Quneitra after raids in Daraa
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces on Saturday carried out a new incursion into the outskirts of al-Samadaniyah al-Sharqiyah village in the northern countryside of Quneitra, continuing a series of cross-border operations in southern Syria.
According to Syria’s state-run news agency SANA, a force consisting of three Israeli military vehicles established a temporary checkpoint at the entrance to the village, where soldiers stopped and searched civilians before withdrawing from the area.
The latest operation follows another Israeli incursion on Friday near the villages of Jamla and Saysoun in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa countryside. During that operation, Israeli troops set up a temporary military checkpoint, inspecting passing vehicles and pedestrians before leaving the area.
In a separate operation late Friday, another Israeli force comprising more than 15 military vehicles entered al-Asha village in the southern Quneitra countryside.
The troops searched a residential house and a livestock feed warehouse before withdrawing, according to local reports.
The incursions are the latest in a series of Israeli military operations in southern Syria, where Israeli forces have conducted repeated ground raids and patrols in recent weeks alongside increased military activity near the border.
