Israeli forces conduct new incursion into southern Quneitra
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces carried out a new incursion into the village of Sida in the southern countryside of Quneitra governorate on Thursday, establishing temporary checkpoints and conducting thorough searches before withdrawing from the area, according to Syrian state media.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that an Israeli military force consisting of three military vehicles set up a temporary checkpoint at the junction leading to Sida village before advancing toward the al-Wubayd Farm junction, where another temporary checkpoint was established.
According to the agency, Israeli soldiers stopped passing civilians and vehicles, carrying out detailed inspections before leaving the area.
The latest movement follows a similar incident on Tuesday, when an Israeli military patrol entered the town of Kudna in southern Quneitra countryside, set up a temporary checkpoint, and inspected pedestrians while checking identification cards.
Two days ago, Israeli forces also advanced along the Wadi al-Raqad road in the western countryside of Daraa governorate with a tank and two military vehicles. According to local reports, the forces opened fire toward the valley before withdrawing.
Israeli military incursions have become nearly daily occurrences in Quneitra governorate, involving temporary checkpoints, patrols, and search operations in villages and towns near the ceasefire line.
