Israeli forces raid homes during new incursion into Quneitra
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces carried out fresh incursions into the southern countryside of Quneitra governorate on Friday, raiding several homes and detaining a local resident, according to local sources and eyewitnesses.
Sources and eyewitnesses told North Press that an Israeli force entered the vicinity of Abu Qubays Hill in southern Quneitra, where soldiers searched a number of houses amid a military deployment in the area.
The sources said the troops conducted house-to-house searches but no arrests were reported during the operation around the hill.
In a separate incident on Friday morning, an Israeli military force consisting of four military vehicles entered the village of Ain al-Ziwan in southern Quneitra countryside.
According to the same sources, Israeli soldiers raided a house in the village and detained a young resident before taking him to an undisclosed location.
The military force later withdrew from the area. The reasons for the detention were not immediately known.
Israeli forces have carried out repeated incursions into parts of southern Syria in recent months, particularly in Quneitra governorate, where local residents have reported raids, searches, and temporary military deployments.
